New Year ... New Happenings
Wow – where did 2017 go? It was such a whirlwind of activity including a lot of family activities like my sister's wedding, stepson's high school graduation, county fairs, concerts and a porch remodel. Not to mention various farm-related activities like a successful calving season, taking care of two orphaned calves (Annie and Ollie), spring planting, summer hay baling and fall harvest. I honestly can't believe that January 2018 is already half over. Looks like it's going to be another crazy year full of activities including my stepdaughter's wedding this past weekend and our 10 year wedding anniversary in March!
Speaking of New Year… We decided the New Year is the perfect time to roll out some new purchasing arrangements. We are now accepting PayPal and credit card payments on our Website! This should make the process of making a deposit and final payment before the beef is picked up easier and more convenient. Just click the Buy Now button on our Website to get started!
In addition, we are proud to welcome Johnson's Processing Plant in Chadwick, IL to our preferred processor list. They offer convenient hours (Mon. -Fri. 7 a.m. - 5 p.m., Sat. 7 a.m. - 12 noon), low processing costs and, of course, custom cutting and packaging. A link to their Website is on our Links page.
New Year ... New, Exciting Changes

Thankfully the winter has not been too difficult in terms of snow and ice. The cold negative temperatures was difficult enough, but when you add wet weather on top of it we really need to watch the cattle extra close. So far, so good!
We hope to continue educating the public on the benefits of buying beef from a generational small farm – benefits like individual attention to animal welfare and health, free range access to grass pasture and hay and farmers who value the gifts God has given to them to take care of animals and the land.
Karl and I wish each and every one of you and your family a wonderful New Year full of blessings, joy and happiness.
